Hurricane Isaias downgraded to Tropical Storm Isais as it approaches South Florida

As of the 5:00 a.m. Sunday, August 2, 2020 public advisory from NOAA , Hurricane Isais is now Tropical Storm Isaias with sustained winds of 75 mph. Isaias is now about 75 miles southeast of West Palm Beach, Florida. Much of the east coast, including Palm Beach County, Florida, is under a tropical storm warning. The warning has been extended north to South Santee River, South Carolina. Tropical Storm Isaias is moving northwest at 9 mph and Palm Beach County, Florida, is expected to get more wind than rain as Isais passed just off the coast.

Hurricane Isaias will affect Florida’s east coast today and into tomorrow

A Hurricane warning because of Hurricane Isaias is in effect for much of Florida’s East Coast, including Palm Beach County, Florida. Residents and visitors should expect weather to deteriorate through Saturday. We can expect hurricane like conditions along portions of Florida’s east coast late Saturday afternoon and into early Sunday morning. We expect Hurricane Isaias to brush past Florida’s east coast, though not make landfall.
