Boca Raton Resort & Club to lay off almost 1,000 as a result of COVID-19
The Boca Raton Resort & Club, which opened in 1926 as a 100-room Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn, will lay off 995 employees on February 6, 2021 because of tourism losses and government actions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, Michael Dell purchased the Resort and Club via his MSD Partners. The resort now includes 365 acres, three hotels, a marina, convention center, and now sports over 1,000 rooms.
