Hurricane Isaias will affect Florida’s east coast today and into tomorrow

A Hurricane warning because of Hurricane Isaias is in effect for much of Florida’s East Coast, including Palm Beach County, Florida. Residents and visitors should expect weather to deteriorate through Saturday. We can expect hurricane like conditions along portions of Florida’s east coast late Saturday afternoon and into early Sunday morning. We expect Hurricane Isaias to brush past Florida’s east coast, though not make landfall.

Trump now willing to drop ‘liability shield’ to move negotiations forward on COVID-19 bailout bill being negotiated in Congress

Today, July 31, 2020, most aspects of the CARES Act will expire which include that $600 taxpayer funded income millions of Americans are having dropped into their banks accounts each week. As these benefits expire, the White House is showing that it is more concerned with keeping the money flowing into the hands of Americans than liability protections for businesses. Trump still wants liability protections for business; however, suddenly this morning seems unwilling for that to be a stumbling block for getting another round of spending in place before Congress goes into a month-long recess on August 7, 2020.

Are you better off now than you were four years ago?

We have asked for decades during presidential election season, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?” A new YouGov/The Economist poll which ended on July 28, 2020 tackled that and other questions of almost 1,500 Americans. The result was 42% felt they are better off now, while 36% were better off four years ago and 22% were not sure.
