Hurricane Henri has the Northeast in its sights

New York and Southern New England will face Hurricane Henri, which is expected to be a Category 1 hurricane when it reaches shore late tonight or early tomorrow morning. A hurricane warning is in effect for the shores of Long Island from Fire Island to Montauk Point up to the Westport, Massachusetts, including Block Island.

At 2:00 PM Eastern, the center of Hurricane Henri was located off the North Carolina/Virginia coast moving north-northeast around 17 mph. Maximum sustained winds remain near 75 mpg with higher gusts. Henri is expected to increase in strength this evening and is expected to weaken somewhat once it comes ashore on Sunday.
