Mexico’s Congress approves marijuana legalization for all purposes

Mexico, looking to fix its failed War on Drugs, passed a major hurdle yesterday, March 10, 2021, by its Congress approving President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s backed bill by 316 to 127 votes. The bill will now go to the Mexico’s Senate and if passed would likely be quickly signed by President Obrador. The country’s citizens have long been victim to the failed War on Drugs through murder and corruption.

What was once a crime will soon become a business. We expect the measure would create the world’s largest market for cannabis, creating five types of licensing. Those licenses are for the growing, transformation, sales, exportation, and research of cannabis.
