Shaklee is an international nutrition company founded by Forrest C. Shaklee in 1956. Shaklee created the first vitamin in the United States in 1915 and called it “Shaklee’s Vitaminized Minerals.” In 1960 Shaklee started selling organic, biodegradable cleaning products. Since that time, Shaklee has remained committed to its natural roots with all the products they sell, and what they introduced this weekend is no exception. The company is now owned by billionaire Roger Barnett. They do not sell Shaklee products in stores, but online and in-person through distributors.
This weekend the company held its first virtual global conference because of the COVID-19 pandemic attended by thousands. Although several products were introduced during the conference, the company is showcasing its patent-pending personalized nutrition system called Me+ology. Unlike tailored and stratified nutrition programs which have been offered by a handful of their competitors, Me+ology brings personalized nutrition to a new level, making it precision based for the individual.
Another innovative product Shaklee introduced at the conference is Triple Defense Boost which helps build an individual’s immune system. Triple Defense Boost contains efficacious amounts of critical immune-supporting nutrients, vitamin C (1,000 mg), and vitamin D (2,000 IU) plus zinc (2 mg). These nutrients provide the nutritional foundation needed to support healthy immune function. Triple Defense Boost contains a patent-pending proprietary botanical blend of yeast beta-glucan, Reishi mushroom, and Panax ginseng designed to engage and boost immune responses. To help protect the complex and hard-working immune system, Triple Defense Boost also contains a second proprietary blend of elderberry, quercetin, and echinacea.
Kids Super Immunity Gummies were introduced and will be available soon online. These little gummies are cherry-flavored so most children will like them and are packed with Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Zinc, besides other powerful antioxidants like elderberry to support kid’s immune health.
In keeping with the immunity theme during our COVID-19 pandemic, Shaklee introduced Chewable Vita-C for both the kids and adults. Each tablet contains 3 and a half oranges (250mg of vitamin C) and tastes great with a delicious creamy lemon flavor.
Two other products offered included extracts from the elderberry plant. One is with the new elderberry Life Shake and the other includes elderberry in Shaklee’s energizing tea. The Life Shake has 20 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber, and 24 essential vitamins and minerals. It is vegan, non-GMO, organic, dairy and gluten-free and is very creamy and delicious; it is a complete meal replacement smoothie. The Shaklee Elderberry Energizing Tea is an effort for people to ditch their sodas and coffee for its healthier alternative. It is an antioxidant-rich blend of green, white, and red teas that provides a safe and natural pick-me-up. There are no artificial flavors, sweeteners, colors, or preservatives.
