Miami-Dade County, Fla — Haulover Beach, which has a clothing optional beach, has been awarded TripExpert’s 2018 Experts’ Choice Award. The award is based on over one million reviews from 85 different publications. The beach has received positive reviews from reviewers in Travel+Leisure, Fodor’s and Not for Tourists. It is one of the highest ranking attractions in Miami and also received TripExpert’s Best of Miami award as being one of the “most worthwhile things to do in Miami.”
The clothing optional beach at Haulover has helped Miami-Dade financially and has helped it become an additional tourist destination for the county to offer. Before the clothing optional beach designation, the beach had been plagued with drug dealing, sexual activity, and vagrants making it a beach most did not want to visit. Since the designation of the clothing optional area, the beach has become a welcoming place for tourists and residents alike thanks to their Beach Ambassador program (NSFW).
Haulover is one of two South Florida clothing optional beaches, the other being Blind Creek Beach in Fort Pierce. Palm Beach County is working to re-establish a family-friendly clothing optional beach later this summer. The effort in Palm Beach County has growing support from residents and tourists who wish to stay in the county rather than have to drive far north and far south to enjoy nude recreation in the Florida sun.
