Boynton Beach, Fla — This morning, May 10, 2018, Riquet Caballero has reached out to
Libertarians in Florida to help him win this November to be Florida’s next Governor. His announcement can be seen below. Caballero is pro-environment, pro-Second Amendment, and for reducing regulations on business and individuals.
Florida’s Division of Elections website shows he filed yesterday May 9, 2018, and his potential Libertarian primary opponent dropped out earlier this week for health reasons. Qualification to be on the ballot for Governor ends at noon on June 22, 2018, at which time we will know exactly who will be on the ballot.
Caballero will face the winner of the Republican and Democratic primaries, happening on August 28, 2018, along with anyone else who has qualified for the November ballot. Currently, there are 26 Floridians who have filed to run and that number will change by the June 22, 2018 qualification deadline.
Here is this morning’s email to supporters from the Caballero campaign:
“This November, Floridians from Pensacola to Key West will have the chance to vote for a third choice in the gubernatorial race. Republicans and Democrats have controlled every department, every agency in Tallahassee for decades, and this has resulted in massive corruption, bureaucracy, and inefficiencies. This is why I am running to be the next Governor of Florida.
As a Floridian, I see our Sunshine State as one of the most beautiful places in the world. Our diversity is unique, our economy is growing, our people are welcoming.
But special interests have taken over our State Legislature, lobbyists control our City Halls. Our budget is blowing, our rights are being denied, corruption is rampant, and we, the people, have no voice left in state government.
I was born in Cuba. I saw firsthand the tragedy of big government dictatorship, and I have witnessed the beauty of capitalism on our side of the water. We need to protect the freedoms we, as Floridians, have.
In Tallahassee, I will fight to protect civil rights, preserve your Second Amendment rights, prosecute corrupt elected officials, and promote a free and safe Sunshine State.
Together, we can harness the powers of free minds and free markets and show the rest of our nation that Florida can show the way.
This is where you come in. You see, in order to have a Libertarian choice on the ballot this November, we need to raise funds to pay for the ballot access fee. Let’s get our campaign started the right way, so go to Riquet4Florida.com/Donate and contribute as generously as you can. Anything, from $5 to $1,000 helps.
I look forward to meeting you all on the campaign trail!
Libertarian Candidate for Governor”
