The IBD/TIPP presidential tracking poll has proven to be the most accurate poll over the years determining who will be the next President of the United States. Since the 2016 tracking poll began on October 20, 2016, Libertarian Gary Johnson has held steady at 8 percent, while Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump remain in a statistical dead heat well below 50 percent each.
Johnson is having a major influence in the 2016 presidential election even though he is being mostly ignored by the general media. It is odd that the general media is not covering this situation more closely as we may not have a clear winner on the evening of November 8, 2016 as the eleciton may instead be decided by the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives. If no candidate receives a majority of Electoral votes, the House of Representatives elects the President from the three presidential candidates who received the most Electoral votes. Each state delegation has one vote.
