Boca Raton, Fla — Today, September 17, 2016, the East Boca Raton location for Parlour Vegan Bakery opened to a large crowd of well over 200 people waiting in line before the bakery opened for business. The bakery’s grand opening offered the first 50 guests a swag bag, which my guests and I missed by four people in front of us. But they did continue to sell the $1 mini-doughnuts and $1 mini-cupcakes. All items in the store are vegan, so it is a safe place for vegans to eat.
Although there was little seating available this morning, there will be in the future. We purchased a large doughnut ($3.95), a large cupcake ($3.75), a cinnamon roll ($3.50), a mini-cupcake ($1), a pre-packaged Atlas Meat-Free Delicatessen sandwich ($11) along with an iced latte ($4.50) and an Americano coffee ($2.75). Total bill: $32.28.
The large doughnut was what they called a “Butter Beer” ($3.95) and it was delicious and amazing. It was so sugary, only half was eaten and the other half was saved for later. The $11 Atlas Meat-Free Deli Mediterranean sandwich was very thick (almost too large to eat) and only half was eaten as my other guest did not like the taste and found it a bit dry. The cinnamon roll was excellent as was the mini-cupcake. We’ll have to report later on the S’mores large cupcake as our sugar consumption for the day was overboard at this great new vegan hotspot.
All-in-all, the Parlour Vegan Bakery is worth going, to enjoy a decadent dessert even if you’re not vegan. They also do vegan cakes to order.
