Tallahassee, Fla — Libertarian Party U.S. Senate candidate Paul Stanton appears to meet all the criteria for Florida’s only televised debate alongside Democrat Patrick Murphy and Republican Marco Rubio. There are actually seven candidates running for U.S. Senate in Florida besides some qualified write-in candidates; however, only Murphy, Rubio, and Stanton are affiliated with a political party for their campaigns.
Even without any widespread media coverage, Stanton is earning over 10 percent of the Florida vote. With the margin of error in polling, Stanton makes the polling criteria to be included while also meeting all the other stated criteria. We are waiting to receive confirmation of Stanton’s participation.
The televised debate will occur on October 26, 2016, at Broward College in Davie, Florida. The debate is sponsored by the Florida Press Association, Channel 25 News and Leadership Florida. The debate will be televised live at 7:00 p.m. on the following stations:
