Portsmouth, NY – Yesterday, July 12, 2016, Bernie Sanders did what many thought impossible, he threw in the towel and endorsed Hillary Clinton for President of the United States. The two could not be more opposite, with Sanders coming from the far left and Clinton from…well, we don’t know where she stands as she has pandered to Democrats in America since shortly before she announced she was running for president. It is also surprising because Clinton supporters reads like a Who’s Who of Wall Street bankers and international financiers while Sanders has been railing against that faction for decades. Even though conservatives didn’t agree with Sanders’ politics, most respected him because they thought he was a man of principle.
Sanders supporters are still in shock as they thought they were supporting a principled candidate. Instead, they have been hoodwinked, supporting someone who has given up his campaign for a confirmed liar in Hillary Clinton. Clinton, who has many multi-million dollar homes she doesn’t want her supporters to know about and is part of the 1% the Sanders supporters have been opposed to.
Sanders had an option to take a principled route by accepting Jill Stein’s invitation to run under the Green Party; however, he did not accept. Stein said she would step aside to allow Sanders to continue his campaign promoting his socialistic ideals. Upon hearing the news of the Sanders-Clinton endorsement, Stein took to Twitter with these gems:
“Many Berning hearts are breaking right now. “
“Sadly @HillaryClinton had a major hand in creating the crises we face: disastrous crime bill, NAFTA, Wall St deregulation, destroying AFDC.”
“The revolution continues with those who will fight for a government that represents all of us–not just the 1%. #HillNo #JillYes”
“While Trump praises dictators, Hillary takes their money. Remind us again of Saudi Arabia’s human rights record?”
During Sanders’ endorsement speech of Clinton, he said, “I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States.” Supporters are in mourning as the candidate who they thought had unshakable principles and gave such impassioned speeches during his presidential run, turned out to be just another politician.
This does open the door for Libertarian Party presidential nominee Gary Johnson, who has
recently been making a plea to Sanders supporters to move over and support his candidacy. Johnson makes a compelling and reasonable case for Sanders supporters seeking a home and a reasonable person they can align when they enter the voting booth this November.
Johnson put together this video to appeal to Sanders supporters in the hope of them finding a home in his campaign. Johnson is one of three candidates who are expected to be on the ballot in all 50 states and will be alongside Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Jill Stein of the Green Party is only expected to be on between 20 to 25 state’s ballots.
